Named after the book Nadja by the surrealist André Breton, NADIE NADIA is an art-punk indie rock and jazz DIY project.
Nadja is inspired by a real woman who selected her name "because in Russian it's the beginning of the word hope, and because it's only the beginning," but her name might also evoke the Spanish "Nadie," which means "no one” or “nobody.” In addition to their haunting melodic synth-driven original songs, NADIE NADIA performs jazz standards from the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, and 1960s.
